Nan Bryson

This is a painting of a friend and neighbour.
Nan, and her husband Robert, ran The Ship Inn, down at Irvine harbourside, for many years.

The composition is clean and simple.The furniture has been transformed into two abstract flat forms to give the space some structure without distracting from the figure. The bottom corner is brushed with a dark warm red.
